Approving as a reviewer

Purpose

A Reviewer is responsible for the first sign-off on submissions from their entity, before they reach the administrator.

Step-by-step

1. Find work waiting for you

Open Submissions and filter by Status = In Review. Look for rows where the Entity Name matches your entity. Those rows show a Review button.

You can also use Approvals and filter by Status = Pending for an audit-style view.

2. Open the submission

Click Review on the row. KCFIS opens the submission on Step 3 of Submit Data in review mode. The data grid is read-only by default; the action bar shows Approve and Reject.

3. Inspect the data

Scroll through the grid. KCFIS does not highlight errors at this stage (the data has already passed validation), so you are checking the substance of the data:

  • Does each project look correct?
  • Are amounts reasonable?
  • Are climate markers accurate?
  • Are sources and channels classified correctly?

If you spot an issue you can fix yourself before approval, you may have Continue Editing access (own entity) — open a fresh tab from Submissions.

4. Approve or reject

Approve

  1. Click Approve.
  2. Optionally add a comment (recommended for traceability).
  3. Click Confirm.

The submission moves to Approved by Reviewer and goes to an administrator.

Reject

  1. Click Reject.
  2. Add a comment explaining why the submission must change. The comment is mandatory and visible to the submitter.
  3. Click Confirm.

The submission moves to Rejected by Reviewer and the submitter can edit and resubmit.

Expected result
  • The Approvals row updates with the Date of Approval/Rejection and your name in Approver.
  • A new entry appears in the Approval history on the submission.
