Resetting your password
Purpose
If you cannot remember your password, KCFIS can email you a 6-digit reset code that lets you set a new one without administrator help.
Before you start
You will need access to the email inbox registered to your KCFIS account.
Step-by-step
Step 1 — Request the code
- From the Logging in screen, click Forgot Password?.
- On the Reset your password screen, type your email address.
- Click Send Reset Code.
Expected result
A toast at the top right confirms "Password reset code sent to your email" and the screen advances to Enter reset code.
Step 2 — Enter the code and a new password
- Open the email titled (typically) KCFIS password reset code. The code is a 6-digit number.
- Back in KCFIS, type the code into Reset Code.
- Type your new password into New Password and again into Confirm New Password. The new password must be at least 8 characters.
- Click Reset Password.
Expected result
A toast confirms "Password reset successful! Redirecting...". KCFIS signs you in automatically and opens the Dashboard.
If you used the wrong email
Click Use a different email on the Enter reset code screen to start over.
Common errors
| You see | Most likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Reset Failed with "invalid code" | Code mistyped, expired, or you requested another code | Click Use a different email, then start the request again. |
| "Passwords do not match" | The two password fields are different | Re-type both fields carefully. |
| No email received | Address typo, mail filtered as spam, or the email is delayed | Check Spam/Junk; wait 1–2 minutes; retry the request; contact Support if still missing. |
Security tips
- Never share your reset code. KCFIS support will never ask you to read it out.
- Reset codes are single-use and expire after a short time. If you stop midway, request a fresh one.
